we should meet
I started writing this newsletter in 2020. I had to look that up because I couldn’t remember and was actually sort of shocked. I didn’t realize it had been that long. Like most newsletters, this one started out pretty small and intimate but it has grown a lot in 5 years.
I’m grateful it’s a big group but I miss feeling more connected. I’d like to actually hang out and get to know you some! I want options for more back and forth than comments at the bottom of a post (which, yes, please comment, I love it, and it helps my stuff get seen). Of course I get to meet you in readings, and I treasure that, but I don’t want you to have to get a reading for us to talk.
I thought about starting a Discord for paying subscribers. Maybe that’s in the cards for the future but honestly when I think about it, I don’t know if I’m really the right person to manage a Discord when I barely participate in the (genuinely excellent) ones I’m already in.
So instead —
tea parties — or seasonal zoom chats
I decided what I’d rather do is host virtual tea parties each season for paying subscribers. Brew up some of your favorite tea and we’ll hang out on Zoom, cameras on or off, sitting up or lying down, outside or inside, however you like. Come in whenever, leave whenever. It’s a simple hangout time.
Sometimes I’ll prepare something small to share with you that I’ve been thinking about to do with astrology and/or plants. Sometimes I’ll collect questions from you ahead of time like an AMA and answer some of those. No matter what, we’ll free-form chat as well.
I plan for it to be pretty casual and last about an hour, with room to go over if we feel like it.
If we decide we really like this, I may offer it more often throughout the year but am thinking just quarterly to start.
will it be recorded?
I may record these eventually so if you can’t make it you’ll still get to watch it (we have people from all over the world in different time zones, and even those of us sharing a time zone have all different schedules) but for the first one at least, I’m going to keep it live only.
